On September 17, the"Forum on the Development of Gigabit Optical Access Technology"organized by the Information and Communication Industry Development Forum 2021 was held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Jiang Bo, Deputy General Manager of the Access Product Business Department of Accelink, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled"Development and Thinking Behind the Next-Generation FTTx Optical Devices."
Jiang Bo predicted the future demand trend of the current broadband access optical device industry and suggested that the compound annual growth rate in the current broadband access optical device market will reach 11.7% and remain at this level for a long time. He said that the implementation of China's "Double Gigabit"strategy has created objective conditions for the growth of domestic broadband access at a macro level, while"faster speed and improved efficiency"have cleared obstacles for the upgrade of home broadband to 10 G PON, and has led to explosive growth in demand for the FTTx optical device market. The next-generation PON has also become a hot spot in the market. Subsequently, Jiang Bo reviewed the current development status of the FTTx optical device market, and pointed out that the upgrade of PON technology has led to an increased demand for downward compatibility, which has promoted the vigorous development of multidirectional optical components. In the face of these changes, next-generation FTTx optical devices need to take into account multiple aspects such as environment upgrade, distance upgrade, rate upgrade, and wavelength upgrade, to optimally utilize the technical and deployment advantages of PON, enrich more application scenarios, and promote the transformation of broadband access from"Fiber to the home"to"Fiber to everything."During his speech, Jiang Bo actively interacted and discussed with the guests and audience on site, and received a good response.
Technical experts from CAICT, operators, communication system equipment suppliers, optical device/optical module enterprises, and other industry experts attended this forum. They jointly discussed how gigabit optical access network can work with 5G network in terms of bandwidth, experience, and connectivity with the deepening and promotion of broadband strategy, and how to jointly build a new cornerstone for future business applications, boost the digital transformation of various industries, and realize the sustainable development of China's intelligent economy and society. Nearly 100 industry professionals attended the forum.
